Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Cornerstone GP Services (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our private GP services, including telephone/video consultations and home visits. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services Provided

We provide private general practitioner (GP) services through telephone/video consultations and home visits. These services are not intended to replace emergency medical care. If you require urgent or life-threatening medical attention, please call 999 or visit your nearest A&E.

Eligibility

Our services are available to individuals aged 18 and over. Parents or legal guardians may book consultations for minors.

Booking and Payment

  • All appointments must be booked online or via telephone.
  • Payment must be made at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
  • We accept payment via debit/credit card or other approved methods.
  • Consultation fees are non-refundable unless canceled within our cancellation policy timeframe.
  • Patients are requested to show photo ID and proof of address to confirm their identity. Without identity checks, patients can access medical advice on a temporary patient ID basis only
  • The cost of any prescriptions, tests and scans are not included in quoted prices.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment time will be eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will not be refunded.
  • If we need to cancel your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a full refund or reschedule at your convenience.

Medical Advice and Liability

  • Our GPs provide advice and treatment based on the information you provide. It is your responsibility to ensure that all medical history and symptoms are accurately disclosed.
  • We are not liable for any outcomes resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided by you.
  • Our GPs may refer you to other healthcare providers if they determine further care is necessary.
  • 10 minute appointments are usually appropriate for a single medical issue. Multiple medical issues will require further appointments with a Dr for safe and effective care.

Artificial Intelligence Use

We use an AI transcription service (www.heidihealth.com) to transcribe your clinical consultations and streamline documentation. Heidi processes your personal data on our behalf under a strict contractual agreement, ensuring compliance with all relevant data protection standards. You can choose to opt out at any time by informing our staff if you prefer traditional note-taking methods.

Heidi only processes your data to create a transcription of your consultation and will not access or retain it for any other purpose. We follow recognised guidelines for handling records. For more information on how we protect your data and uphold your rights (including access, correction, and deletion), please see our full Privacy Policy

Chapperone Policy

Patients may request or bring a chapperone to any remote or in person consultations. This can be a friend or family member. A remote chapperone from the Cornerstone virtual reception team is also available upon request. Cornerstone chapperones for face to face services are available, but will incur a further charge of 50% of the home visit cost.

Prescription Policy

  • Prescriptions are issued at the discretion of the GP and only when medically appropriate.
  • We do not prescribe Schedule 2 & 3 controlled drugs or medications deemed inappropriate for remote consultations.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure prescriptions are filled at a registered pharmacy and used as directed.

Home Visits

  • Home visits are subject to availability and location.
  • You must provide a safe and accessible environment for the GP.
  • If the GP deems the visit unsafe upon arrival, they reserve the right to cancel the appointment, and no refund will be provided.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Your personal and medical information is stored securely and only shared with third parties when required by law or with your explicit consent.
